This submission is grounded first in the lived experience of SDA members. Ourmembers work on the shop floor, at the checkout, in the warehouse and behind the counter, and they are already telling us what artificial intelligence looks like inpractice: algorithmic rostering that removes control over their working hours, automated task allocation systems built on assumptions about how work is done rather than the reality of doing it, and workplace change introduced with little or no consultation before decisions are finalised.
