Easter is a busy time for SDA Members in retail, fast food, and warehousing.
While many enjoy the long weekend with family and friends, thousands of workers give up that time to keep stores, kitchens, and warehouses running.
That’s why fair rosters, proper pay with penalty rates, and safe staffing are especially important over Easter.
Penalty rates apply on public holidays
You should receive higher pay rates under your award or agreement when working these shifts
Work on public holidays is voluntary
Most SDA Union members can choose to take time off on public holidays.
If you’re unsure about your entitlements or think you’re not being paid correctly, contact your local SDA Branch.
