Your rights in warehousing and distribution centres

The SDA is the union for warehouse workers across Australia.

Your employer is legally bound to pay you for all work done. If you work before you clock on or keep working after you clock off, you must still be paid.

If you’re required to wear a uniform or special clothing at work, it must be paid for or supplied by your employer.

Most Australian workers should receive superannuation payments. The current superannuation guarantee is 11.5%. The SDA campaigns to increase the super guarantee and make super fairer for all.

Injured at work? The SDA is here to help you every step of the way.

Better pay and conditions

On average, workers at SDA sites earn more and receive better conditions than non-SDA sites.

Breaks

Breaks are not optional extras. They must be taken and cannot be withdrawn by your employer.

Warnings & investigations

If you receive a warning at work or are called in for a meeting with management, you have the right to have the SDA represent you.
