Rodney has been an SDA member since 1993 and a Woolworths team member for an incredible 38 years, all at the same Shepparton store. His loyalty extends not only to his job but also to his values.
A proud and passionate union member, Rodney consistently upholds his rights and encourages his teammates to do the same. He takes genuine pride in his work, whether it’s ensuring trolley bays are full, stocking milk fridges, or offering assistance wherever needed.
His co-workers notice the difference when he’s not there, describing him as ‘a machine’ – reliable, hardworking, and irreplaceable. Even after a technical transfer due to service changes, Rodney’s store team brings him back because they recognise his value.
Customers adore him for his friendly chats and big smile, making him a firm fixture in the store’s culture.
A lifelong Carlton supporter, Rodney has rarely missed a game in decades and passionately runs the store’s footy tipping competition, with an excellent memory for who supports which team.
