UNION WIN! SDA members now have a roof over their heads!

It may have taken some time to get approved, but thanks to the combined hard work of the SDA, Regional Organiser Wendy, and members like Kim and Rod, Coles Margaret River now has some desperately needed shelter over their back dock.

The loading dock was previously completely exposed to the rain and elements and posed a serious safety hazard.

During the rain, tarps were needed to protect stock and unloading trucks was dangerous due to the wet a slippery conditions.

Safety is union business and unions have always advocated for safer workplaces.

The SDA has been involved in pushing for strong health and safety laws to ensure workers’ safety from physical and psychosocial hazards.
