The SDA is pushing for better pay and conditions at Maccas
For over five years, McDonald’s has not been negotiating with workers or the union about workers’ entitlements. McDonald’s and its franchisees are the largest group of employers in Australia that doesn’t negotiate with its workers for an Enterprise Agreement. The SDA wants to fix this. That’s why we’ve made a Supported Bargaining Application at the Fair Work Commission to require them to negotiate for an Agreement.

UNION WIN: ANTI FATIGUE MATS RETURNED IN KMART
Some time ago, the SDA was advised by Kmart that they planned to remove anti-fatigue mats from the front door greeting area, claiming it was a trip hazard. The SDA opposed this move by the company due to health and safety concerns raised by door greeters.
