We’ve won our bid to bargain for the first-ever Agreement at Chemist Warehouse.

This means Chemist Warehouse workers will be getting a say on their wages, rostering conditions, leave, breaks and other conditions at work for the first time ever.

This is a massive win for Chemist Warehouse workers and was only possible because of union members.

How did this happen?

Earlier this year, we lodged a groundbreaking application to give hundreds of workers at Chemist Warehouse the right to negotiate over their entitlements at work.

Earlier this month, the Fair Work Commission ruled that several Chemist Warehouse sites in South Australia must negotiate with the SDA.

Chemist Warehouse is Australia’s biggest pharmacy retailer. Despite this, they only pay their workers the minimum amount required and don’t give workers any say on their pay or conditions.

We think this is unfair and that workers deserve better than this.

What’s next?

We’re now preparing to start negotiations with Chemist Warehouse. But before that happens, we want to hear from Chemist Warehouse workers.

Over the next few weeks, we’re going to be giving workers the chance to have their say in negotiations.

We’ll be out in workplaces to hear about what matters to them and what they think could be improved.

Their feedback will then be used to form our priorities at the bargaining table.
