After hard-fought campaigns by our members, the SDA has initiated negotiations for the first-ever enterprise Agreements at Savers and Tool Kit Depot respectively.
These agreements will only cover workers in South Australia. Both companies are currently covered by the General Retail Industry Award, which outlines the minimum pay and conditions.
For several months, we have been surveying and speaking with workers at Savers and Tool Kit Depot about their pay and conditions.
From these discussions, it became clear that a majority of them wanted to have a real say on how their pay and conditions are set.
We then lodged Majority Support Applications at the Fair Work Commission, seeking to give workers the right to have their say.
Savers and Tool Kit Depot initially opposed our applications, but after months of perseverance, they have since agreed to negotiate with the SDA.
By standing together, Savers and Tool Kit Depot workers sent a clear message that they wanted to have a say on their pay and entitlements at work.
These Agreements will only cover workers employed in South Australia.
If you work at Savers or Tool Kit Depot and want to find out more, contact the SDA.
