The SDA and Big W are about to begin negotiations for a new Enterprise Agreement.

As the union for workers at Big W, the SDA bargains with the Company on behalf of all workers and fights to secure the best possible outcomes.

What is the SDA’s role in negotiations for a new Big W Agreement?

The SDA will be representing the interests of Big W workers at the bargaining table.

Over the next few weeks, we’re surveying workers to find out what they want to see improved through bargaining.

This feedback will be used to form our priorities in negotiations, ensuring that workers have a real voice at the bargaining table.

SDA Organisers will be visiting stores to chat with workers and find out about the issues that matter to you at work and what can be improved.

If you work at Big W and haven’t had a chance to see your Organiser, you can take our online survey here.

Why do negotiations matter?

Over many years of bargaining, the SDA has been at the forefront of winning better outcomes for Big W workers. With the support of our members, we’ve won higher pay rates, extra annual leave and better work/life balance provisions.

What’s next?

Once surveying is finished, we’ll use workers’ responses to form our log of claims and commence negotiations with the Company.

Once negotiations are finished, workers will have the opportunity to vote on whether to accept the proposed Agreement.

If you have any questions about this, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
