For over five years, McDonald’s has not been negotiating with workers or the union about workers’ entitlements.
McDonald’s and its franchisees are the largest group of employers in Australia that doesn’t negotiate with its workers for an Enterprise Agreement.
The SDA wants to fix this. That’s why we’ve made a Supported Bargaining Application at the Fair Work Commission to require them to negotiate for an Agreement.
By negotiating Enterprise Agreements, the SDA has negotiated above-Award pay and conditions at other fast food chains across the country.
The SDA’s application seeks to:
- Give workers a real say at work
- Secure better entitlements in an Enterprise Agreement
- Lift pay and conditions higher than the minimum standard
